First Day Headed for California

As advertised we left home at nine this morning and got about fifteen miles before encountering a problem. The twelve volt connector to the Brake Buddy had self destructed, and the little pin thingy had popped out of the end. I discovered the reason the Brake Buddy wouldn't work after checking the fuses in the car and plugging the Brake Buddy into the auxiliary connector on the motor home. Boy genius never thought to check the end of the plug for the little pin thingy. It was closer to go to Wally World and buy the repair parts. Finally got on the road at ten thirty. By the way, if you have never tried to check a fuse on a Honda, give it a try sometime when you vocabulary needs a refreshing with obscure profanity. The thing is recessed and the opening is a bit small for my pudgy paw, but we managed with a combination of fuse puller and needle nose pliers.

We made it to Lawrenceburg Tennessee at about four o'clock local time. No picture today since it was a pure travel day. We did make a note to return to Cowan Tennessee in the future. Cowan is a neat as a pin small town and of note is the train station with it's freshly painted locomotive and rail cars. The locomotive appeared to be a steam driven narrow gauge workhorse type of engine.

Us64 is a nice quiet drive with a great road surface and a large number of views of spectacular
mountain valleys. This is the easy and fast way to transit Tennessee and appears to be a well kept secret.

Pat and I finished the day by sharing a piece of excellent carrot cake which was a gift from the special friend Darby. You can't beat good carrot cake and a cold glass of milk. Thanks again Darby.
